Title sponsorship enables DYXnet staff to channel a keen sense of social responsibility into helping underprivileged families
(HONG KONG, JUNE 10, 2016) – DYXnet Group, Greater China’s leading carrier-neutral network service provider, paddled with passion in the “Family + Fish DYXnet Charity Cup” yesterday as part of Hong Kong’s now famous Dragon Boat Festival.
This was the second time since 2012 that DYXnet Group played a role in this Aberdeen Promenade Waterfront event organised by the Aberdeen Dragon Boat Race Committee.
DYXnet’s 20-strong team was led by Founder & CEO Lap Man, alongside Resources Sharing Centre President Wallace Ng and Technology & Research President Max Yeung, and included members of staff drawn from the Hong Kong office.
Special DYXnet T-shirts were made for supporters and the team trained intensively for yesterday’s event, promising to make race favourites – MTR, Tsui Wah Restaurant and Herbalife – work as hard as possible.
After dragon boat crews vyed vigorously for Charity Cup honour, DYXnet’s Lap Man joined forces with Dr Ko Wing-man, BBS, JP – the HKSAR Government’s Secretary for Food and Health – to present prizes.
Lap Man said: “It was extremely gratifying that DYXnet staff and family members were so willing to sacrifice their leisure time so our team could train to face up to fierce competition on the big day. Taking part in events like this is great for building team spirit and boosting staff morale, as well as staying healthy and competitive.”
He added: “We are very pleased to be title sponsor this year, and I am proud of my colleagues’ determination to help low-income families. As a socially-responsible company, DYXnet is always on the look out for charity programs we think we can help.”
Six days before the race, Marketing & Corporate Communications Group Director Floria Chan rolled up her sleeves to lend a hand in the “Family + Fish” aspect of DYXnet’s sponsorship by handing out fresh fish to low-income families.
All proceeds raised by this, the sixth such Charity Cup event will be used to purchase 3,000 pieces of nutritious fresh fish for underprivileged families in Hong Kong.
This festive event gave DYXnet the opportunity to translate the moral values of traditional Chinese culture – unity, social obligation and gratefulness – into meaningful action to benefit the needy.
