Top-tier facilities to meet growing demand for cloud and mobile applications
(Hong Kong, June 12, 2014) DYXnet Group, Greater China’s ICT (Information and Communications Technology) service provider, is pleased to announce today the opening of its new data centre in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, Hong Kong. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the data centre is the Group’s second, tier 3+ data centre apart from the one in Shanghai Waigaoqiao. This new addition is also the 11th data centre of the Group, increasing our capacity of accommodation to a total of 2,000 racks.

Driven by the increasing demand for cloud deployment and mobile applications from global enterprises and ecommerce clients, we have the ambition to extend our cloud strategy of tier 3+ data centre through new hybrid cloud models, combining various clouds (public, private and hybrid) in order to provide a unique experience to our clients. To best cater for our clients’ needs, we expect to invest over HK$60 million in the coming 2 to 3 years in building more data centres reaching 18 to 20 in total, enhancing our rack capacity to 3,500.”
The data centre is Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) gold certified and in compliance with grade 8 anti-seismic standards. The design and operation include tier 3+ electrical system with multiple levels of redundancy and backup; an efficient use of space with a 3kVA per cabinet average power density; an energy saving cooling design with a projected Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.6; ultra-quick responding VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) fire detection system; environmental-friendly fire extinguishing system – Novec 1230; and a two-factor security authentication including fingerprint and access card for personnel identification. In addition to the 2 x Power Distribution Unit (PDU) of each individual rack with 18 sockets each and come with dedicated locks, the data centre also provides secure infrastructure with individual steel mesh cages for those clients with stringent request on security level.
